Marks & Spencer

Improvements to the user journey

The team at Marks and Spencer Jersey approached E-scape with a brief to improve the customer experience of their online Wedding list and the Lunch-to-Go service.

Their existing CMS functionality was difficult to use and the team were frustrated by the lack of control their website offered them internally.

Approach

Using SilverStripe, our preferred open source CMS platform, E-scape rebuilt the wedding list and food ordering systems of the M&S Jersey website making the process easier for the end user.

Greater automation was introduced to the ordering process in order to streamline internal procedures and considerable improvements were made to the security of the ordering and purchasing processes.

Result

The client was very happy with these improvements.  As a result, internal workload has been reduced, food orders have risen, along with the number of concurrent wedding lists managed.

We also introduced an online payment system for customer Wedding List orders, giving the website complete professionalism, and modified and simplified the password system used to administer the Wedding List section – a small, but extremely useful, improvement.

Further updates and features are planned to go live in the near future, which will also include some new digital marketing.

Testimonial

"E-scape did a fantastic job in redesigning our website, making it more ‘user-friendly’, not only for our customers, but for us.  We are now able to edit the site, upload images etc without the need to use an outside agency, resulting in speedier realization and financial savings.

Not only were E-scape highly efficient in the work they did for us, they have continued to provide excellent support whenever we have needed it.  As a consequence we happily anticipate working with them on future developments."
